Whether you are an
owner, a general contractor, subcontractor or
construction supplier, avoiding and successfully
addressing construction-related Arizona legal issues is
crucial to your company's survival and to freeing you to devote your energy and attention to
running a profitable company.
You can count on the proven expertise of Lang Baker &
Klain's construction lawyers in a wide
variety of areas, ranging from construction litigation and licensing issues to
dust control compliance and green building opportunities.
If resolving your legal issue
involves litigation, you can count on the proven legal skill, courtroom-tested
experience, and industry knowledge of Lang Baker & Klain's
construction lawyers.
But our construction law
services extend far beyond litigation. We can assist you with Arizona Registrar
of Contractor licensing and complaints, lien enforcement, bond claims, dust
control violations, green building opportunities, and protecting your interest
against debtors that file bankruptcy.
-
Licensing and Complaints. You can rely
on our years of experience with a broad range of Arizona Registrar of
Contractors matters, including licensing, license denials, and complaints.
Also, we can represent you in appealing a suspended or revoked license, help
you resolve the issues that led to the discipline, and restore your license
to good standing.
-
Collections. We can help you
protect your payment rights, through our extensive experience and online
resources pertaining to mechanics and materialmen's liens, bond claims, stop
notices and the Arizona Prompt Payment Act.
-
Solar
Construction. As with all types of construction and installation,
the Arizona Registrar of Contractors requires that solar contractors are
properly licensed. In general, a contractor must qualify as a solar
contractor to install, alter or repair a solar device, and must hold the
license that is appropriate to the type of solar device being installed.
-
Dust Control. If you receive a Notice
of Violation, we can arrange for independent testing to challenge the
inspector’s findings. An effective challenge can mitigate the fine, and in
some cases cause the Notice of Violation to be dismissed. We can protect you
from being steamrolled by the County and make sure your rights are
protected. If the case goes to a hearing, we present testimony and other
evidence that we believe will get the best possible result.
-
Green Building. Lang Baker & Klain’s
construction lawyers help Arizona contractors and subcontractors profit from
green building opportunities. Our green building services include drafting
of green construction contracts, assistance in obtaining LEED certification
and complying with LEED prerequisites, representation in LEED certification
challenges, and complying with other green building standards.
-
Bankruptcy. Lang Baker & Klain
represents construction project owners, general contractors, subcontractors and
construction suppliers in collections matters and in cases in which their
debtors file for bankruptcy protection. We also are experienced in representing
secured and unsecured commercial lenders.
